The NSW Government is considering options to re-open the Murwillumbah rail line in North-East New South Wales to a former casino there. The line was closed down after there was a financial battle between the State and Federal Governments. Now the government is trying to fix that problem.
The State Transport Minister, John Watkins, claims that this will all be fixed by having a working party to present its recommendations about the rail. The recommendations should surround the rail usages and benefits for it to be put back on track. These recommendations will be provided early this year. The government’s decision to stop the rail from running still stands, until the community could make a decision. |
