Affirmative Action in the Penn. Gaming Business. 2005-06-19
forumThe Gaming Diversity Forum, this past week, was announced to be in the works with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board in order to include businesses owned and controlled by women and minorities. The Commonwealths growth in the gaming industry has contributed greatly to the board today. The only thing missing was this inclusion of diverse members, and this planning session will change that.
The plan in action is to include these members in a multi-billion dollar production arrangement. This is a step; Pennsylvania has been behind on, and long time in demand. The Chairman of the Board Act 71 of 2004, Thomas A. “Tad” Decker calls for such a change to be made, and made soon. Diversity in all realms of gaming in Pennsylvania is to be made as soon as possible.
When the forum comes into being, it will be a day event of three separate sessions in networking, and other later announced matters. The idea is to bring an overview of gaming, rightly called, ‘Overview of Gaming in Pennsylvania; Advancing Diversity Among Manufacturers and Suppliers; and Preparing to Do Business.’ This is the main section the forum will be addressing.
As of yet, the location of the forum has been undecided. The date, however, has been set for September 2005. The Gaming Board hopes to arrange these things soon, and announce these details to the public, when all is known.
