Competitors of the Nine World Series of Poker have finished at the prestigious tournament in the top 10%, with wins of $850,000. They got to the Las Vegas tournament by playing poker. The poker was created by CryptoLogic software.
One of the players was winner John McGrane. He qualified for the event on a $40 online tournament, and finished well. He finished eighteenth out of over 5,600 competitors. McGrane won a grand total of $350,000, through 78 hours of poker play in six days.
Vice President of the software, Andy Goetsch, a fan of poker, is proud to have been a part of the WSOP. It is partly because of the great players, and part due to the software, he believes. It is a good show this year; it may be bigger in the following years too. |
