In Wellsburg, West Virginia, projected limitations surrounding the location of the future casinos were passed. Their city council passed this ruling during a first reading by the proposal last Tuesday. The proposal was recommended by Mayor Wayne Campbell.
The goal of the proposal is to limit the creation of new casinos at a space of 600 feet from any suburban locale, park, school, church or other casinos. Already the proposal will cooperate with this ruling. Casinos will not be affected in anyway. However; there will be a limitation of the number of casinos built in the future.
As wonderful as the new proposal sounds, others violate the state rulings. Despite that, casinos have not been forbidden near residential areas. It is hard to determine why, but the theory is because commercial and residential areas most times sit very close to one another. |
