One online poker room has recently announced the inception of satellites dedicated to the 2006 World Series of Poker Ladies Event, with hopes of becoming the leader in the ladies poker world.
Daily satellite tournaments began on the online poker room last week, leading up to the Ladies Grand Finals, in which packages of $2,000 will be given away, including $1,000 travel and spending money and the $1,000 buy-in to the WSOP.
Jennifer Tilly, last year's winner, won $158,625 as well as the WSOP bracelet after the ladies only event in 2005. Last years event saw 601 entrants, with organizers expecting a big increase in participants this time around.
The online poker room is working hard to become the home of women's poker, with dedicated ladies poker rooms, a ladies poker club, forums and tournaments. The introduction of the ladies only WSOP satellites and custom-designed tables for the ladies only tournament are the latest moves from the website, already considered the leader in online poker.
A representative of the online poker room reportedly commented that the company is very confident that they will have a strong showing at the ladies WSOP event. Entrants who make the grade through their sites dedicated ladies only satellites will be sure to have a great fun time as well as having an excellent chance at the WSOP.
Of course, the online poker room is still offering all the best internet poker options, as well as daily satellites for qualifiers to every event at the WSOP, ladies and men's.
