Influential Detroit citizens, for the longest period of time have being trying to convince the Michigan Gaming Control Board to approve their request for a casino. This is not just any casino, but the expansion of the MotorCity Casino in this city. It was just recently that the Michigan Gaming Control Board approved these plans.
The project, while approved is now awaiting building permits from the city. The plan is to add 100-thousand square feet for the casino space, and a18-story, 400-room hotel. In addition there will be a convention area, with a12-hundred-seat theater, restaurants/ bars, and a 44-hundred parking space parking lot. If there will be a permit any time soon, the plan will be to start now, and be finished by 2008. The casino will then need to hire around 300 more people to add to the staff at MotorCity Casino. |
