University of Dundee, conducting the study, says that online gambling is likely to be the secret cause of homelessness.
Lesley McMahon, a research fellow at the university said women are keeping the problem secret because they are embarrassed for social services to discover this. Gamblers Anonymous in Scotland said it was receiving an increasing number of calls from women, in relationship to the issue.
