The ongoing case for the jueteng has led to the authorities trying constantly to find others in the illegal gambling business. Now they have found a new culprit for illegal gambling called the Lotto EZ-2 game. This is the new rave, since Philippine illegal gambling structures have been all but taken down. Since the authorities have discovered this, they went right for the sources, and now have finally arrested these individuals.
The Baliuag and Marilao police have arrested bet collectors, and operators this past week. So far they have four individuals in custody with the Baliuag police with P 1,745 found, and one collector is Marilao with P 110 found. The operation in Barangay Makinabang, Baliuag fuelled the police to arrest Jerry Nadres 60, Gerald Amatorio 47, Rolando Cruz 54, Sonny Cabrera 47, and Antonio Lebardo Villegas 42, in Marilao.
The police found bookie/financer Irene Pusos from Barangay Lolomboy, Bocaue. They have not yet caught her, as she is still at large. The government has warned that the games were being operated by jueteng operators. Anti-jueteng individuals find that the game is similar to that they operators once had, and ran. Director General of the Chief of Philippine National Police, Arturo C. Lomibao said they are cracking down to prevent resurgence of the jueteng. Mayor Edward Hagedorn of Palawan City said that the jueteng has been removed from most parts of the country. Police aren’t so sure. |
