Seneca County officials have approved a new law. This new law will declare illegal gambling a public nuisance. City officials, as well as residents hope that this move will help the closing of Cayuga Indian Nation's Seneca Falls bingo hall.
Last week, The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the law. The law which contained 14 pages will be enforceable through the District Attorney's Office. The law includes prohibiting gaming machines, and other illegal devices. This will start with those see at LakeSide Entertainment.
The facility is owned by the Cayuga Indian Nation of New York, which also has electronic bingo machines. The Nation also is known for running a gas station/convenience store on the site and two other businesses in Union Springs, Cayuga County. The Nation is declared one of those places that is considered a public nuisance in the state. |
