The Navajo Nation Council has now appointed their first gaming director. The director is none other than Edward Lockett Jr. The selection of the director has been a vital part of the Navajo Tribe's plans. They plan to create future casinos in Northern Arizona and New Mexico. This will help revenues, and create jobs for the nation.
In their study of where to put these casinos, Leupp, Arizona was under investigation. Of course what was discovered was that this casino would be too close to casinos situated south of Flagstaff. Leupp, despite it all, is still under consideration, because local citizens are in favor of it. Lockett's appointment will hopefully speed up the casino construction, which has been going slowly. |
