The release of the blockbuster thriller The Da Vinci Code this weekend has seen a frenzy of activity in the online gambling sites.
Gamblers are speculating how much they think the film will gross on its opening weekend. The movie opens concurrently around the globe in thousands of cities and is expected to smash previous records.
The favourite bet currently is the film grossing between $80 to $90 million. The record is held by Spiderman which grossed $114 million in its opening weekend in 2002.
The films success also depends largely on the fact it is released over the Memorial Day weekend, which happens to be one of the top performing periods for movies in the calendar.
