Kentucky's lieutenant governor claimed that Medicaid is eating up state tax revenue. He has urged legislature to consider expanded gambling to help. Lt. Gov. Steve Pence made his point public at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce's monthly government forum.
In his opinion, the General Assembly needs to address this issue anyway. He says that Kentucky citizens are going to Illinois and Indiana to gamble therefore helping greatly improve their economies, schools, and roads.
Kentucky already allows gaming in the form of horse racing, the lottery and bingo, but not casinos. They are not ready for this type of culture, meaning the problems that will come with it, or occur from it. May disagree with Pence, and say his stance is irresponsible. |
