Around 56 were arrested when the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) anti-illegal gambling teams raided “lotto suerte” places in Cagayan de Oro City. This happened this past weekend. Reports were relayed by PNP Regional Office 10 Director Chief Superintendent Dante Tejada.
The police confiscated "lotto suerte" tally sheets and stubs, as well as bet money equaling P 9,450, and 36 motorcycle units. Charges of violations of Republic Act 9287 were filed against the arrested suspects. This all took place before the City Prosecutors Office of Cagayan de Oro City.
The police vow not to stop until they get the situation handled. At the moment the arrest of 56 is a good start. The Philippines will not tolerate illegal activity. |
