Special zoning approval has been granted to build a $200 million casino and hotel by Lakes Entertainment. The company had already permitted these zoning laws previously, but this time it is official and real. Lakes Entertainment, waited for the alteration of these laws in order to prevent industries from building nearby.
They did this, this way in order to preserve the resort’s image. They wanted to be the only ones in business. Casino business is a highly competitive business. Lakes Entertainment must still provide proof that it is financially able to build, before the company will grant permission. The state commission must then provide the company with its final decision. This new casino, if granted, will be the fifth in Vicksburg.
This hotel and casino complex will feature seven restaurants, 410 hotel roomed space, and a 250 seated convention area. This will be no small project. The casino is meant to be something massive and impressive. |
