Some Wellington community leaders met this morning with Bob Knight, Developer and Former Wichita mayor, and Gary Armentrout, Chief Development Officer for Foxwoods Development Company, to discuss casinos. Their vision is to figure out a destination for a casino, they are looking to develop in south central Kansas.
Knight said they are showing interest in several different counties in the area. He claimed that he was approached by more than three counties, all enthusiastic of bringing a casino to them. Knight also said he wanted community leaders to meet with the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska. They are meeting together as they want to partner with each other in this future venture. At the meeting, it was discussed that the tribe would be partnering with Foxwoods Development Company. This is the company that was established by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. |
