Neighborhoods in South Reno may have an approval on their hands. This approval plan would allow for the construction of casinos if the Reno City Council says so. The proposal to build a casino has already been approved by the Reno City Planning Commission, but now needs to be accepted by the city. Once the plan is approved by the city, the regional gaming commission will also have to show its approval.
A Las Vegas-based company is looking at the Redfield Regional site. The company claims that the casino will create 1,300 jobs, a well as a million dollar fixture for the economy. The Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada has opposed the development plan. So it seems the outcome of this plan is up in the air. |
