Hillsboro is an example of a small town, where very little exists. This city in central Kansas does not have a movie theater, a liquor store, or a bar. The best the city can offer is two supermarkets, one that offers the sale of liquor. This could be because the city is mainly Mennonite.
Despite the demographics, all will have their chance to vote for a 300-room casino. In this small quiet area, there could be a casino. In this small town without a main highway, this could prove even more difficult if it gets to this point. Despite the downsides, politicians want to attempt to raise the numbers in the town’s economy.
Who knows if the vote will pass in favor of the plan? The area may not be ready for this, but they are certainly ready for something. Maybe they do not need noise, but they defiantly do not need too much quiet. |
