An Iowa Republican finally got his way when he introduced a new anti- online gambling bill. This past week, Representative James Leach got his wish. He contacted other politicians to gather support last month and now has it.
This week, the bill known as; Bill HR 4411 (The Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) passed in the US House Committee on Financial Services. Senator Jon Kyl tried to make a bill similar to this one, but wasn’t all that successful. Despite it going through, and the applause, industry observers say that movement on this bill is hardly likely until sometime in 2006. |
