The sale of the Mississippi Belle II riverboat casino was approved last week by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.
The riverboat casino in Clinton was sold to Wild Rose Entertainment for a figure of $38.4 million and plans are underway to rebuild the casino as a land based property on the west edge of Clinton.
The sale was approved with a 4-0 vote from members of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.
Wild Rose Entertainment is in negotiations to purchase a 29 acre plot of land alongside the intersection of Mill Creek Parkway and US 30 where they are planning to build the new casino. The new casino will feature 650 slot machines, a VIP lounge, a bar with tabletop video gaming machines and 20 gaming tables.
Wild Rose Entertainment plans to keep on the current Riverboat casino staff and expand operations to create more jobs for the community at the new Clinton casino. |
