A groundbreaking ceremony occurred today, when the MotorCity Casino broke ground. The $275-million dollar casino hotel and conference center is now moving to this spot. The ceremony was lead by Larry Alexander, Chair of the Convention Bureau.
Construction has already begun and will be completed in late 2007. The Michigan Gaming Control Board's unanimous approved the MotorCity Casino's construction plans, in September. The construction is meant to build a better hotel and entertainment center.
Construction will mean the introduction of 1,200 jobs, for construction jobs alone. The economy will get a boost from this all. More jobs are just about to be developed because of this construction. |
