A local online sports book and casino has announced that eBay has decided to stop auction for a pre-paid membership for an online gambling site. eBay has halted its $100,000 auction because an auction for this would promote illegal results.
Lee Samuels, Director of Promotions at the online sports book claimed that he was surprised that after two days they took it all down. They have sent an email to his department calling it illegal. Hurt, as well as shocked claimed that eBay wasn’t doing their job if that was the case, not until two days later.
The online sports book is planning another auction, but this time it will be a pre-paid gambling trip to Las Vegas. Gambling is only legal in Vegas, so eBay shouldn’t have an issue auctioning off this one. Of course after this last problem, why either side would want to work with each other again is anyone’s guess. |
